Eight-year old Reed from Nar Nar Goon enjoyed the Lego event.
The best Lego b uilders across the South East exhibited their flair and artistry in style over the weekend, as part of Southern Cross Brix Inc's Cardinia Brix fan event.
About 470 local Lego enthusiasts of all ages made their way through the Cardinia Cultural Centre to see more than 20 displays on shows, with Bricks 4 Kids providing entertainment for the younger attendees.
Southern Cross Brix Inc treasurer and event co-organiser Kerry Jordan said the quality of the exhibitions was high.
"It was quite a good event," she said.
"We had a bit of everyth8ing, from Star Wars to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ninjago."
Mrs Jordan said this year was their biggest event so far thanks to the support of the South East community.
"Without our exhibitors, we wouldn't have a show," she said.
"It's a nice relaxed atmosphere".
"It's a fun community."
While a Lego Masters Australia competitor was amongst the exhibitors, first-time exhibitor Thomas Davie took home the Best in Show award with his Sesame Village display, with Tom Scott taking home second place for Batman's Vacation and Teenage Mutant Turtles builds and Tracey, Charlie and Isaac awarded third place for their Ninjago Cityscape piece.
Mrs Jordan said while Lego Masters Australia had contributed to a resurgence in Lego's popularity, its longevity was due to the never-ending imagination of the builders of all ages.
"You can just create anything," she said.
"You're always learning with Lego."
"Art isn't just paintings and photography, it can be done in Lego."
Mrs Jordan said it was inspirational to see children as young as seven exhibit and see their skills and talent grow year-by-year.
"The kids just love it," she said.
Proceeds from the event would contribute to charity TLC for Kids.
Since 1998, TLC for Kids has provided relief and much-needed distraction to sick children and their families during stressful and traumatic situations.
